About the 2020 Power Play Awards
This year, the Power Play Awards received nominations from more than 185 companies and 37 countries. The winners were selected through a two-part process. An impartial panel of eight international experts from across the LNG value chain assessed the nominees and selected 12 finalists.
This year’s panel included last year’s award winners – Jocelyne Machevo (Eni Rovuma Basin), Julie Mayo (Norton Rose Fulbright), and Phaedra Deckart (AGL Energy Limited) – as well as industry leaders Dena Wiggins (Natural Gas Supply Association), Madame Jin Shuping (CNOOC), Monika Simoes (Energy Dialogues), Dr. Shamshad Akhtar (Sui Southern Gas Company Limited), and Yang-mi Choi (KOGAS).
The second phase was a period of online community voting. This year’s record number of 92,000 votes made up a portion of the overall scores for each finalist. The individuals with the highest scores were selected as the winners.
