Access to E-Gov for All Now Reality in Cyprus

Interfusion recently announced the launch of the implementation of preparatory actions for the Cypriot Pilot at the Municipality of Pafos, while the launch of the pilot is expected shortly.

“We are particularly optimistic for the successful execution of the Cypriot pilot, as well as for the long term impact the project will have in enabling equal and easy access to electronic public services for all citizen groups, regardless of age, physical impairment or financial situation. DIEGO will substantially empower citizens, offering access to E-Governance services,” said Mr. Yiannis Chrysostomou, Director of Interfusion Services Ltd.
In DIEGO Interfusion acts as the Coordinator and Manager of the Cypriot pilot, which will be executed in cooperation with the Municipality of Pafos. Its role is essential for the provision of guidance and technical support to the Municipality of Pafos in terms of inclusive e-service transformation and provision.
DIEGO’s electronic services will be adopted from the existing E-Government services offered by the Municipality of Pafos, but also from a set of new E-Government and E-Governance services that will be developed from available and untapped sources such as the digital gateway to the Republic of Cyprus government, kiosks, Television and Smart Mobile Phones.
DIEGO is partially funded by the ICT Policy Support Programme (or ICT PSP). The Competitiveness and Innovation framework Programme (CIP) runs for the years 2007-2013 and is organised around three multi-annual specific programmes: Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Programme (EIP); Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Policy Support: Programme (ICT PSP): Intelligent Energy Europe: Programme (IEE).
